In order for you to make the most eco-friendly decision mobility-wise, Skipr includes the CO2 emissions of every suggested trip displayed in the Journey Results.
How are the emissions calculated?
The emission of a trip equals the sum of each transport mode's separate CO2 emission (i.e. the multiplication of the number of kilometers and the carbon emission per kilometer).
Skipr works with an average CO2 emission per vehicle type. Please find the list below, from lowest emissions to highest emissions.

- 🚲 Mechanic (classic) bike: 0
- 🚲 Electric bike: 9 g/km
- 🛵 Electric scooter: 11 g/km
- 🛴 E-step: 13 g/km
- 🚇 Electric metro: 20 g/km
- 🚆 Electric train: 26 g/km
- 🚋 Electric tram: 30 g/km
- 🚗 Electric cars (incl. taxi & car-sharing): 51 g/km
- 🚌 Electric bus: 75 g/km
- 🛵 Fuel scooter: 77 g/km
- 🏍 Fuel motorcycle: 107 g/km
- 🚌 Fuel bus: 110 g/km
- 🚗 Fuel cars (incl. taxi & car-sharing): 171 g/km
Which emissions are taken into account in each trip?
- ⛽️ Fuel vehicles: the CO2 emissions of the fuel generated during the trip.
- ⚡️ Electric vehicles: the CO2 emissions generated during the electricity production during the trip.
So you know...
This means that the CO2 generated during the production of the vehicle is not taken into account. We use official sources of CO2 emissions whenever possible. If not, we are also providing an average CO2 emission per mode of transport. We are working on refining this model to be specific to the mode of transport and/or vehicle you might take, but please bear in mind this might affect the emission count.
